There's a Porto Bello in Uptown Damansara!

Anyone heard of this restaurant? It has become quite a hit around Uptown Damansara that even ingredients run low on the night before our food review!

Porto Bello is actually a joint venture of an eatery business venturer and his friend, a chef who used to be responsible for dishes in a Singapore restaurant. Both have teamed up together to bring us on a twisted western food adventure!

I wonder what awaits!

Upon entering the restaurant, I was greeted by a cozy environment! There's even a Christmas tree all set up at the corner, ready for the festive season! I particularly like the raw brick walls.

Simple and comfortable furniture, blends right into the western style. There's even small private rooms for a gathering of family and friends! I think it has quite a nice environment to cater to private events.

Their specialty and goodness is in the food rather than the beverages. Hence, please bear with them while they keep looking out for talents to manage their beverage station.

Let's wait not more and dive into the menu!

Homemade Wild Mushroom Soup (RM8.90) - made out of 5 types of wild mushrooms and served with a soft baguette. Fresh mushroom soups are always one of my favorite starter. Different from other, this mushroom soup is served with soft baguette rather than the hard baked ones. I actually enjoyed the softness much more.

3 pieces of Bombas (RM6.50) - made of mince chicken meat and mashed potato topped with aioli and barbeque sauce. Aioli is a Provençal sauce made of garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, egg yolks and seasoning, taste.

One of my favourite dish of the course as I find the combination of barbeque seasoned minced chicken meat actually goes really well with the mashed potato. I enjoyed the texture of the shell which is actually crunchy on the outside but soft in the inside.

Legendary Crab Cake (RM10.90) - crab meat served with aioli and tomato relish. This is something very seafoodie, only for seafood or crab lovers!

When placed in your mouth, it gives a strong non-tinted crab meat taste and smell. Some people who are not fans of seafood might not be able to accept the taste and comment that it taste like unfresh seafood which is not true. Highly recommended for those who are crab meat lovers and vice versa.

6 pieces of French Escargot (RM13.90) - Baked escargot on a bed of creamy garlic cheese base.

Yum! Many first timers would not even want to have a try on escargots but once it's popped into their mouth, I bet they would be craving for more! Not many places serves cheese baked escargots but this is one place you can look out for!

Comes in 6 pieces, it's sure to satisfy your cravings because we all know one is never enough! The escargots come in mediocre sizes with a base of melted garlic cheese. Pick them out from the shell and swipe 'em across the melted cheese base. They will melt in your mouth and the tender escargot will be gone before you know it.

Spaghetti Creamy Miso (RM13.50) - a fusion of Japanese flavour & Italian pasta topped with sunny side up and bonito flakes. Mix them all up and they actually goes really well together!

It's a creamy pasta enriched with the flavours of bonito flakes, you will feel like eating a pasta okonomiyaki.

Seared Salmon (RM29.90) - served with beetroot puree, mashed potato and beurre blanc.

One of my favourite as well, this dish promotes a healthy meal. The salmon itself is flavorful enough with it's tender meat and moisture locked in inside. an addition of beetroot puree, salad and mashed potato is placed to go with the salmon.

It is indeed a healthy choice in the menu. Highly recommended.

Porto Bello Chicken Pie (RM22.00) - chinese style marinated chicken on italian mushroom.

It's a quirky pie with a cap! Presented like a fastfood set, the layers od this crust crispy chicken pie is served with a porto bello cap on top with sides of salad and french fries. The chicken pie itself is filled with chicken bolognese like sauce which is very appetizing. The porto bello has a tint of mushroom flavours, just good to go with the flavourful cheesy chicken pie.

Braised Beef Bourguignon (RM29.90) - braised with red wine until tender served with soft baguette.

One dish beef lovers should look out for in the menu. Braised to perfection, the meat is tender in your mouth and a bite on it will gently squeeze the red wine gravy onto your tongue, adding more flavours to your bite. Have it together with the sliced baguette for a more mouthful experience.

Smoked Barbeque Chicken (RM29.90/half RM54.90/whole) - served with fried and salad.

It's the dish for the festive season! Caramelized with barbeque sauce and then slowly smoked to perfection, you can taste a tint of wooden aroma engraved into the chicken meat. A hearty meal to share.

Porto Bello Lagendary Lava Cake (RM13.90) - warm molten lava served with vanilla ice-cream.

One of the best I have tasted. Never too sweet when you have the lava cake together with the cold ince-cream. A fusion taste of hot and cold, leaving you delighted at the end of the meal!

Porto Bello Panna Cota - Italian dessert made by blending thick cream, egg white and strawberry.

One of their very signature dessert that makes you ask for more! Taste best when taken right out of the chill room. A little sour and sweet cold delight which melts in your mouth while carving a smile. A real indulgence to complete your meal. Highly recommended.

Thanks for Food Inker and Porto Bello for having me!
