Mid-Autumn Festival has always been one of my favourite festival of the year because of the delicious jelly moon cakes mom would buy every year. However, somehow I was a little sad this year because we did not get any jelly mooncake this year.

Still, spending time with mom this year during Mid-Autumn Festival made it so much more enjoyable and meaningful. It’s been 3 years since I’ve been away from home and I’m more than happy to be finally moving home and spending more time with mom. <3

Having some time off work, we made quite a drive from home to this new place called Plaza Arkadia in Desa ParkCity to check out the Mid-Autumn Festival. Apparently, there’s a weekend bazaar and lots of interesting activities happening. It sounds like really interesting and I’m glad I made a trip here with my loved ones.

This casual stroll has brought so much laughter and joy as we enjoy watching our little new family member (my little nephew) laughing and smiling so happily while being intrigued by those brightly lit colour lanterns and also water fountains.

Plaza Arkadia is still a fairly new establishment in the Desa ParkCity but it was done so well with many different eateries around the huge water fountain that I find myself really enjoying this new environment. Everyone seems to be relaxing in an assortment of eateries and also around the colourful water fountain which brings so much live to the place! People were sitting around the fountain, creating laughters once in a while and kids would play with the waters shooting up from the floor while giggling, it was a spread of happy vibe and joy. While on the other corner, there's Lady Chang'E going around in the cloud with her partner spreading joy.

There were a small area set up for weekend bazaars and I have to admit they have some lovely clothing accessories stall there which are totally girl’s favourite. That’s not all, there are also a variety of stalls to cater to all people such as a DIY Toy Figuring stall which I find really amazing and interesting, there’s a stall selling DIY canvas painting which I have always wanted to try for myself, and also a stall selling delicious Musang King mooncake! Super yumms!

Desa ParkCity has always organized events to bring family closer and this time, not to be missed is the Keychain and also Lantern workshop where parents can learn how to do it together with their kids! My little nephew was too young but I would definitely like to bring him to explore such opportunities when he gets much older! I even saw a kid enjoying   his creation with his mom! Sweetness!

Bering a girl, my favourite stalls are those selling fashion clothing and also one which sells about Korean hair tie and accessories. It reminds me how long I have been such a plain jane! Sure is exciting to purchase from pretty ones! Did I tell you that it is interesting to find Batik design gowns which my aunt would always wear as her night wear? It brings back some nostalgic memories.

There was also a stall selling little green plants! Apparently they don’t need much watering. I love how a plant which needs little care can brighten up the environment. All of them actually looks really pretty with their own characteristics.

It was really fun and I love to come back to this place again someday. Definitely recommending you to give a visit too even there's no special occasion. The environment and variety of eateries is a great place for hangout and gatherings.

According to Nicole and Adele, the two young looking lady from N Star x Missa Queen, these 3 products have been personally tested and recommend by themselves for women of the urban world, from age 18 to 80.

Sunday 19 August 2018

The Waterfront @ Desa ParkCity has always been well-known for hosting most of the fun filled festivals and bazaars and something that really caught my attention this time is definitely something to do with.. food!! Yes, you caught me right there; food is always one of my happy pill. 😄

Just yesterday, I was at the Food Festival & Bazaar happening from 17-19 August (11am - 10pm). I was worried that I might not be able to make it in the morning as it was raining heavily but I'm glad the rain stopped slightly after 11am. In a way, it made the weather really cooling at the bazaar and haze gone too! 💕 The weather can't be more perfect for an outdoor stroll, don't you think?

// The Waterfront @ Desa Parkcity //

// Food Festival & Bazaar Entrance //

This is actually my first time at a bazaar held at The Waterfront @ Desa Parkcity. The bazaar was held at the parking area of the front entrance while the parking area behind the building is set available for patrons parking. Apparently, there might be some difficulty getting parking in the late evening, therefore, I would advice to attend early for any events or bazaar held here.

The first thing and the most thing I notice at the bazaar is actually this Boost App. They have a strong marketing game and I have been seeing them everywhere. Over here at the bazaar, they have a big booth which will assist you with the installation of the app which will then pre-load the app with a RM5 credit for your use at the stalls in the bazaar. I notice that if not all, most of the stalls accept payments made with the Boost app. There are also many on-going promotions when you use the app at the bazaar. So do make sure to head your way to the booth to install your Boost app or ask assistance from those in Boost red tee walking around the bazaar.

// Babarittos Food Truck //

// Vietnam Grill Honey Chicken Wing + Char Kuey Teow //

// Nasi Putih Matrock Ayam Goreng Kunyit //

The place look quite small at first but I'm amazed that there are actually about 50 unique lifestyle bazaar, food stalls and food trucks!! There are so many choices of food, I can't decide which one to choose for breakfast! I was torn between burgers, western food, takoyaki, ice blended, grilled chicken wings among others. As you all know, our stomach can only fit so much. Hence, I have to forgo most and just get what I'm craving for the most! Guess what I end up with? Scroll down to know the answer!

// Western King Cafe //

 // Me with their Lamb Signature Barbarittos & Lamb Quesadillas //

Tadaa! Yes, it's Mexican food! Mexican is probably one of my favourite type of western food. They are always really flavourful with lots of cheese and sauce. 💓 Can you see what is that I'm holding in my hands? It's the Lamb Quesadilla (RM15) on the left and the roll of Lamb Barbarittos (RM20) on the right! All lamb because I am always on the look out for really good lamb dishes! It's scarce, don't you agree? Therefore, let me know if you have any place in mind that serves good lamb!

// Let me have my Lamb Quesadilla first //

// Now my Lamb Barbaritto //

Verdict; I would rate them 3/5. I was actually looking forward to the Lamb Barbaritto but the Lamb Quesadilla won me over with a more tender pulled lamb meat with melted cheese in between while the lamb chunks in the Barbaritto tend to be more firm. Nevertheless. do give them a try if you are craving for Mexican dishes!

// Fashion Stalls //

// Get some accessories maybe //

Besides food, there are also many interesting fashion stalls selling nice clothings. I wish I had more time to go through them and get some new pieces but I only had some brief moments to browse through. There was a stall with display of pretty earrings of different style with buy 1 free 1 promotion while there's bargain at another stall selling items from as low as RM1 per piece

// Children Play //
// Children Giant Slides //

It was a surprise to notice that they have a children game section with giant slide floats and jumping ground too. This brings back nostalgic memories when I was young back then and I enjoyed myself the most with the slides at parks. However, as the weather these days are too hot, it is advisable for parents to keep their kids hydrated especially when they will be actively sweating in this playground.

// Oyster Mee Suah //

// Enjoying my Oyster Mee Suah //

Good food should not be missed and for the second round, I am having this Oyster Mee Suah (RM8) which is one of my favourite Taiwanese delicacy. I would give this bowl of noodle a 3.5/5. The broth is pretty rich in flavour. If only the noodle is a little softer than it would be really good! Yums!

It's not in the pictures but there were many ice-cream stalls and cold drinks which is a life savour in this hot weather. Too bad my throat is not feeling well. Therefore, I have to give it a skip but you can always check out the stalls which you have missed in my video insta post which I have shared right below! *Don't forget to follow my instagram account for more lifestyle postings! 😚

// Waso Shisheido Booth //

Lastly, just before I made a move, I'm glad to drop by the cute and pretty Waso Shiseido booth where they are giving out free mask samples! Hey, they come just in time to repair and rejuvenate our skin after being under the scorching hot sun for so long! Therefore, don't forget to drop by! 💕
