With this, I’m really glad to have gained a deeper knowledge about Mineral Makeup and learn to dismiss many of the commercial mineral makeup products which might provide insincere and vague claims. I have came across enough to learnt that brand marketing nowadays love playing around with words which might cause confusion to consumers like us. Method of application:
- Turn the cover of the mineral foundation to exposure the little openings and pour out a tiny bit at a time ( don't be too greedy and put out a lot!) onto the black cover.
- Press the foundation brush against the cover and twist onto the cover as if tightening a screw.
- Lift up and repeat step 2 for a few times until the mineral powder stick evenly onto brush.
- Apply by moving the brush in circular motion onto skin with some pressure so that the mineral powder will successfully apply on the pores as well.
- For a higher coverage, repeat the steps above for about 3 more times (total 4 layer coverage). Do not attempt to pour a lot of mineral powder and apply them at once for a thick coverage because it might cause uneven application.
The foundation powder can also be used as concealer and here's how:
- To use as concealer, it is important to apply using the concealer brush.
- Dispense some mineral foundation onto the cover.
- Pick up the mineral foundation by sweeping across the powder with the brush.
- Sweep across the area that needs concealing and repeat for a few times to thicken coverage.
- Repeat step 3 & 4 to apply more coverage layer,.
- You will notice that it does magically creates a thick layer which gives a pretty high coverage on dark spots and acne. (Yes, acne. Read on to know what it will do to your acne!)
Alas, repeat the similar steps of 1 to 4 used for mineral foundation application to apply the mineral setting powder as the last step. However, for a person who has oily skin, the setting powder can also be used as the first and the last step as well. Feel free to experiment the step arrangement on when to apply the mineral foundation and mineral setting powder. Sometimes, only we know whats's best for ourselves.
Sharing my personal thoughts and experience;
I have first tried it on my hands, followed by application on my face for a day out and I have to say that they are really worth sharing! Before trying it out, I do have my share of doubts on the product performance such as coverage, dryness and comfort.
To be honest, I am pretty amazed with the coverage with it being a mineral makeup. KISS Mineral Foundation are made up of powder form fine minerals and judging by common sense, I would think that the foundation will only be able to give a light sheer coverage or concealing but with the right technique and brush, it actually gives a pretty high coverage! Secondly, my concern is on the texture of application. Makeup wise, the products I use are usually liquid form and I would avoid powder form products due to the dryness it causes. The deep lines and wrinkles never fail to show up if I use powder form makeup products. Yup, that's one of my reason to avoid powder application at all cost! KISS Mineral foundation somehow proves me wrong! Not all makeup product in powder form performs the same. Application of KISS Mineral foundation was actually quite feather light and it didn't feel like I had any layer on top, feeling so breathable. Importantly, it only shows my laughing line lightly without magnify it nor show obvious texture of dry skin cracks and pores.
It also makes me happy knowing that the application of KISS Mineral Foundation and Setting Powder provides benefits to my skin instead of causing hazard. I have sensitive skin type and at times of acne attacks, I frown upon makeup. because it is guaranteed to make my condition worse.
