362: KISS Mineral Makeup Foundation & Setting Powder Review

KISS, Keep It Simple and Safe. Don’t we all girls wish it wouldn’t hurt to be pretty? The fact is, we all probably learn how to be pretty with our first purchase of conventional make up products. Well, it was hard to resist with all the pretty advertorials and what not, packaging and affordable price! Who would have thought so deeply about the harmful makeup ingredients contain inside!

How I wish we were all more educated about safe make up products back then but now is still not too late! Some might think that since it is applied on the skin layer which is outside, it is probably not absorbed into the body and hence does no harm! I have came across enough to learnt that brand marketing nowadays love playing around with words which might cause confusion to consumers like us. Method of application:

1. Turn the cover of the mineral foundation to exposure the little openings and pour out a tiny bit at a time ( don't be too greedy and put out a lot!) onto the black cover.
2. Press the foundation brush against the cover and twist onto the cover as if tightening a screw.
3. Lift up and repeat step 2  for a few times until the mineral powder stick evenly onto brush.
4. Apply by moving the brush in circular motion onto skin with some pressure so that the mineral powder will successfully apply on the pores as well. 
5. For a higher coverage, repeat the steps above for about 3 more times (total 4 layer coverage). Do not attempt to pour a lot of mineral powder and apply them at once for a thick coverage because it might cause uneven application.

The foundation powder can also be used as concealer and here's how:

1. To use as concealer, it is important to apply using the concealer brush.
2. Dispense some mineral foundation onto the cover.
3. Pick up the mineral foundation by sweeping across the powder with the brush.
4. Sweep across the area that needs concealing and repeat for a few times to thicken coverage.
5. Repeat step 3 & 4 to apply more coverage layer,.
6. You will notice that it does magically creates a thick layer which gives a pretty high coverage on dark spots and acne. (Yes, acne. Read on to know what it will do to your acne!)

Alas, repeat the similar steps of 1 to 4 used for mineral foundation application to apply the mineral setting powder as the last step. However, for a person who has oily skin, the setting powder can also be used as the first and the last step as well. Feel free to experiment the step arrangement on when to apply the mineral foundation and mineral setting powder. Sometimes, only we know whats's best for ourselves.

Sharing my personal thoughts and experience;

I have first tried it on my hands, followed by application on my face for a day out and I have to say that they are really worth sharing! Before trying it out, I  do have my share of doubts on the product performance such as coverage, dryness and comfort.

To be honest, I am pretty amazed with the coverage with it being a mineral makeup. KISS Mineral Foundation are made up of powder form fine minerals and judging by common sense, I would think that the foundation will only be able to give a light sheer coverage or concealing but with the right technique and brush, it actually gives a pretty high coverage!  Don't believe me, a picture paints a thousand words. Just scroll down and see for yourself. 😃

Secondly, my concern is on the texture of application. Makeup wise, the products I use are usually liquid form and I would avoid powder form products due to the dryness it causes. The deep lines and wrinkles never fail to show up if I use powder form makeup products. Yup, that's one of my reason to avoid powder application at all cost! KISS Mineral foundation somehow proves me wrong! Not all makeup product in powder form performs the same. Application of KISS Mineral foundation  was actually quite feather light and it didn't feel like I had any layer on top, feeling so breathable. Importantly, it only shows my laughing line lightly without magnify it nor show obvious texture of dry skin cracks and pores. 

  

It also makes me happy knowing that the application of KISS Mineral Foundation and Setting Powder provides benefits to my skin instead of causing hazard. I have sensitive skin type and at times of acne attacks, I frown upon makeup. because it is guaranteed to make my condition worse. When I tried out the foundation and setting powder, I notice that the redness and flaring on my acne has reduced. After all, KISS Mineral does promote anti-inflammation and anti-bacteria. 💕

I often experience skin irritation daily from dryness and oil secretion on my skin surface but it felt different with KISS Mineral foundation and setting powder on my face. On observation day, I had both the foundation and setting powder from 10am till 11pm, when I finally removed it when I got home after my work day. During the time between, I did not experience greasiness on my skin like I usually do on most of my face but only slightly on the corner of my nose and forehead. 328: An Organique Present for Myself this Christmas + a Giveaway!

Oh, hmm.. it's just a few more days to Christmas and I wonder has anyone got any gifts for me? I mean have you got your gifts ready for you loved ones? Hehe..

It's always fun to shop during Christmas because it's guilt free shopping! Why?

I rarely shop at MyTown, Cheras but I'm glad we decided to meet up there because it's near the Concierge area where I chance upon the Organique pop-up stall.

Organique is actually quite a new name around as  many people seems to be unaware of it including myself until I stumble upon this little pop-up stall. There was this little red mirror which attracted my attention. More about it later.

The top products which usually catches my attention at beauty counters are scented hand creams! Over here, I spotted their Lavender / Rose scented hand cream tester and I could not resist but to try them on! 😍 

I wanted to bring them home but I still have a collection of hand cream I got from last year! Haha.. But for those who likes scented hand creams and body cream, you can definitely try it out at their counter.

The body cream 200ml is retailing at RM59 while the hand cream 75ml is retailing at RM39. The price is really affordable considering it's size! Moreover, the cream is a little dense hence a little could spread a long way! Rose scent was never my thing but recently, I find myself falling for the soft scent. If you want something relaxing, these natural essential oil scents work perfectly!

Although I didn't get the hand cream, I got something else for myself! All the late nights and stress from work has been showing so much on my skin lately, I was on a look out for some hydrating serum / mask to replenish my hydrated and tired skin.

Organique Rehydrate Facial Serum seems to be one of the key product I need in my skincare steps. It has been tested and proven to significantly moisturizes and hydrates the skin for 24 hours.

The obvious signs of my aging skin is usually dryness and fine lines with occasional acne attack during high stress level. Therefore, I always focus on hydrating products for my skin care.

This signature products contains concentration of botanical extracts & vitamins that specifically targets wrinkles through deep penetration. I was really delighted to know this serum will be able to fix most of my skin problems as the formula helps to protect my skin from environmental stresses because I spend a lot of time outside and not to mention that even when I was home, I was surrounded by construction pollution all around. No kidding, my house is so dusty everyday 😞

The serum liquid is like light milky texture and it can be extracted from the bottle with the pipe lid which is really good to prevent contamination and also messiness. It glides easily through the skin. It absorbs really well and easily. It leaves the skin feeling soft, supple and fresh. It has a natural breeze scent too which I find very calming and relaxing. 

Most importantly, there was no sticky or oily residue. 💛

This brand develops a lot of formulation using Organic, Natural, and Naturally Derived ingredients which gets another cookie point from me! 💕  Do you like products with organic and natural ingredients too? It's important especially for people who's skin gets irritation from synthetic chemicals.

I seems to fall in love with this Organique Rehydrate Facial Serum more when I found out the ingredients include cucumber extract, chamomile flower extract, lily extract and naturally derived fragrance. All which are very soothing and beneficial natural ingredients.

I usually do not fancy over night hydrating cream mask as they either leave my skin worse or oily in the morning. Perhaps those products are just not suitable for my skin. 

Therefore, my preference is always night repair skin care application which are not cream or jello-like over night mask. My skin is really sensitive with creams as anything too moisturizing or rich will lead to blackheads / whiteheads and papules in the morning. Yes, all they need is just a few hours while I sleep to pop-up.

However, this actually made it to my favourite list for a night cream after trying it for a few days.

The cream texture is actually quite thick and heavy. Therefore, I usually just use a tiny bit to spread it across my face. I like the soothing and  refreshing during application. It might feels a little oily at first but do give it some time to set in and the oiliness will disappear after the cream has been fully absorbed. 

Skin feels firm but smooth right after. Signs of hydration being restored. 😃
