I've jumped into the bandwagon on #CafeHopKL since sometime ago because it is a really fun thing to do! I've been to VCR, Standing Theory, Coffee Stain by Joseph, Oh! Scooter Cafe, and the list goes on...

New cafe are mushrooming almost every weekend! They grow so fast, my cafe-to-visit list just keeps growing! Yes, it sounds like a good thing but not really if you are a real coffee enthusiast; not calling myself one but I've grown to love drinking good coffee! So, yea.. when I go into a good looking cafe with nice environment and sipped a cup of lousy coffee, it is very disappointing. Disappointing that these cafe owners do not bother to serve good coffee when their main purpose is to serve coffee? Sounds like a hypocrite at work =/

After a few disappointments continuously, you get tired of tasting coffee from new places. That's when I need to just spend my relaxing weekend at home sipping a consistently good cup of coffee! Ah....~

Suddenly, the hype of drinking coffee is hitting KL real hard! Not only is cafes mushrooming like crazy, home capsule coffee machines have also been introduced into the market. Some is expensive while some does not taste really good..

Until there's Arissto! Although a new comer, this has got to be the one coffee capsule machine that is affordable and can promise you a good cup of coffee. Not super aromatic like fresh coffee brewed in cafe but aromatic enough when you smell it up close and tasteful. It is true that some coffee might give out a good aroma and cheats you on it's taste but Arissto is nothing like that. What you smell is what you get. :)

I was lucky enough to be given a chance to review the Arissto which is just newly launch in Malaysia around April this year!

At first, I was a little skeptical about this brand because I have not heard of it but after getting my hands around this machine and it's coffee, my perception totally changed! I'm in love with it! I love sipping a cup of coffee but my body is very sensitive towards caffeine. My body tells me that a cup of Arissto coffee contains a good lot of caffeine. So, it's good for anyone who always need a good dose of caffeine to kick start their day!

The machine is compact and the design lets you fit it into any small corner of your kitchen! It also comes in white which can easily blend in with any colour of your kitchen and doesn't look odd at all! In fact, it looks really classy. Housewives would definitely love it coz it is so easy to clean with no rounded corners and small in size! Mom agrees to this. Haha.

The machine is very easy to use! Just a few steps and my coffee is ready!
1. Fill up the water tank with filtered water.
2. Flip on the switch at the bottom left near the water tank.
3. Fit in my desired capsule.
4. Figure out my choice; espresso or a cuppa coffee / americano / long black and press the button! Small cup button for espresso / big cup button for long black.
5. Finally, I get to enjoy my coffee! Not like it's a long wait.. Maybe around 30 seconds? ^^

Awesome, right?

The temperature of the water used for brewing is one of the important point in making a cup of coffee. It should be between 195 F (91 C) and 205 F (96 C). The closer to 205 F (96 C) the better. The Arissto coffee machine called the Happy Maker heats water up to 92.5°C which is in between the mentioned temperature to do a good job in extracting the coffee.

Wonder why the right temperature is not 100 C? Because that would burn your coffee!

Another important fact to take note of is the pressure required to brew a proper espresso which is 15 - 19 bars. The Happy Maker brews at the pressure of 19 bars hence creating a rich and aromatic espresso. The espresso is completed with a layer of signature crema which signifies a good cuppa coffee!

Did I mention that it comes with a milk frother too!? At no extra cost! The whole set comes with a price tag of RM599 which is just unbelievably affordable! There's no detachable part which let me decide whether I want make some foam for 3D art or just without foam. Fresh milk usually gives more foam. :)My barista friend recommended Farmhouse / Magnolia / Farm Fresh / Greenfield.

Another thing that coffee lovers look forward to is a consistency in taste. No one like to drink something which is good and then bad and keep going on a roller coaster!

Arissto's coffee grinds are prepared in Korea which does gives me the impression that the capsules are prepared in a high quality environment! There are 6 different recipe capsules formulated by coffee masters from Italy! Test all six and there will definitely be one which you like! The different recipe are also made to cater to different type of coffee.

The beans behind every cup of Arissto's premium coffee are sourced from various countried including Brazil, Columbia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Togo, Kenya and Ehtiopia. Arabica beans are used while some recipe includes Robusta coffee beans to enhance the taste in the mixture.

ARISSTO PEACE 100% composed of premium Columbia Supremo coffee beans, it's simply soothing. It's a perfect drink especially for those who fancy coffee of the Americano or Colombian style. (Those who's everyday cup is Long Black loves this mixture)

ARISSTO LONELY Blended from the finest beans from 5 continents, the richness of this high intensity roast provides a balanced taste with notes of bitterness. (This one is really for those who can take bitterness! Haha)

ARISSTO MOONLIGHT A perfect balance of satisfying medium body and crisp acidity, it expresses a light rounded blend of exquisite fresh fruits. (This is the cup that gives you a highly Acidic taste)

ARISSTO SUNRISE A perfect balance of nuttiness and richness, it's spirited and pleasing. This makes it a perfect match for Americano and many other types of coffee. (The choice for Macchiato)

ARISSTO PASSION It has a strong body with a robust taste like dark chocolate. Due to its strength and is less affected by milk, it is suited for coffee variations such as cafe latte or cappuccino. (This is good for Flat white, Latte and etc.)

ARISSTO IN LOVE Ti is a well balanced coffee with medium acidity and body. This coffee has a deep sweet flavour with low bitterness level. (New coffee drinkers might want to start with this)
