It's almost the time of the year again where we will have a fun rowdy festive celebration of Chinese New Year. A good celebration represents good fortune, happiness, wealth and longevity hence family and friends coming together to celebrate with good food is a must!

// The Forum Yee Sang //

It's my first time at The Forum and it seems like a really cosy place for a nice gathering. The place is spacious and has different seating choices such a tables for a group of four, a stretch of bar with high chairs overlooking the view outside and even a long wooden table for a gathering group!

Yee Sang is a traditional prosperity toss but many new versions has been created to give a creative touch and that includes the Yee Sang from The Forum as well. The highlights of the Yee Sang here is the Fresh Wild Salmon Slice which is with utmost quality and freshness. Thinly cut Fried Foo Chok / Beancurd Slice adds flavour and crispiness into the toss.

// Chicken & Fish Siew Mai //

It is said that this is the first time their team is touching base into the Chinese Cousine to create a fusion twist for guest during this festive season. Impressive enough, the texture of the Siew Mai was really good. They manage to combine the right portion of nicely grinned and small chunks of lean meat to create the perfect filling texture of Siew Mai. The plate of Siew Mai was accompanied with wasabi sauce for a twist.

// Baked Beans, Kaya & Salted Egg Paus //

Paus came a long way from the Chinese History. Although a simple bun with filling, it has become a habit for Chinese to enjoy eating this simple bun during any meal time so it was a nice inclusive into the menu. Paus offered in the menu are of Baked Beans, Kaya and Salted Egg.

// Butter Coffee //

// Spaghetti Aglio Olio with Grilled Chicken //

The Spaghetti Aglio Olio with Grilled Chicken was perfectly seasoned but be warned that the level of spiciness is not for the average to handle. However, it will definitely tickle the taste bud of those spicy food lovers. The Grilled Chicken was flavorful especially the nicely grilled skin but still able to retain the meat's tenderness and juiciness.

// Wok Fried Udon with Kimchi, Prawn & Assorted Vegetable Tempura //

A special Japanese and Korean Fusion was also included in the menu where the the Wok Fried Udon was flavoured with Kimchi to give a fresh flavour. I like how there was a tinge of sourness and little spicy touch instead of the usually dark sauce flavour. The tempura makes a good side dish for the Udon Noodle. Definitely recommended.

Lastly, it's important to end the meal with abundance of sweetness. Enjoy their cake of the day with every set ordered. The chocolate flavour here is loud and clear. Every bites soothes the soul with it's melting piece in the mouth. It's a death by chocolate.
