I'm in the mood of COMPLAINING! WTF *CB* REALLY WTF!!!

Here we are, joining one of the top Private University in Malaysia and yet we are faced with these problems! As most of you have known, I am now in the final year of my studies and this means I will be taking my exam for my 3rd year first semester. My exam period actually stretches from 8th of January to the 21st of January and due to some ISSUE, it has to be changed to the 14TH, which means I will have papers on the 8th, 13th, 14th, 16th and 19th of January INSTEAD OF 8th, 13th,16th, 19th and 21st. Oh great, right? Now I have 2 days less to study and have to cramped the 2 days less to shorten period of studies. Damn great right?

Then they tell you, no changes are going to be made unless REALLY NECCESSARY and this will be the final ammendment. FINE!

Then the next thing you know, few days later, you recieve another mail saying that it is now 8th, 13th, 16th, 17th and 19th instead of 8th, 13th, 14th, 16th and 19th. Sure, it does not look like there any difference BUT I WAS PLANNING TO STUDY MY MS WHICH IS ON THE 19th, FROM 16TH ONWARDS!!!! Now where do I fucking stuff that piece of shit? In the middle of no where?

so geart la, study break shorten, exam weeks shorten, what a fucking great Christmas gift for my final year in NOTTINGHAM MALAYSIA WTF!

Hohoho! MErry Christmas! WTf! >:XX >:XX >:XX >:XX >:XX >:XX >:XX >:XX

For the past numerous years, Mc Donald has been having Beef Burger promotions during the Chinese New Year season. Sure, it would be something I look forward to every Chinese New Year if I can consume beef. However, Buddhism forbids consumption of beef and so I'm not allowed to. My mom has also told me that I have gone through some "adoption process" to be adopted by Guan Yin. It happened when I was a little girl because there were a few nights where I was not going to sleep but looks like as if I am playing with something that can't be seen by the naked eyes of humans. Thus, I'm strictly strictly not allowed to eat beef.

Anyway, this post is not about why I can't eat beef and is salivating for Mc Donald's Prosperity Burger ever year. Actually I dislike this idea of promoting Beef Burger as Prosperity Burger during the Chinese New Year. Yes, I'm irritated.

Everyone knows that a high percentage of Chinese in Malaysia holds a religion that forbids consumption of beef and yet Mc Donald is promoting the Beef Burger as a Prosperity Burger in conjunction to Chinese New Year. I'm fine if they do not produce Pork Burgers because they are a halal restaurant. But, what is it with Beef Burgers during Chinese New Year? Are they being a little insensitive towards the Chinese? This is a multi racial country and they should always respect every race. I am not telling Mc Donald to hide all beef burgers during Chinese New Year but where is your effing concious, man. Everyone knows that this is being disrespectful. It gives the same impact of a Chinese Restaurant advertising their Babi Bakar as a Raya Promotion. It does not makes sense right? I am not trying to offend anyone here but I am just trying to use an equally outrageous example to send out the meaning.

It makes me wonder who are these Pig Brain members of the Mc Donald's marketing team. Make full use of your brain can or not? Because your kononnye DOUBLE ENJOYMENT marketing campaign ANNOYED ME!

More like double nuisance to me.

Ok, maybe it was not the marketer's fault but I am so disliking the person who suggested BEEF BURGERS in association with CHINESE NEW YEAR! wtf.

this is an unethical marketing campaign!

I just finish typing a rough essay for my AMC assignment. Yes, it’s like finally. Thank God. Hopefully, I will be able to restructure the whole essay and do my referencing and try to meet up with my lecturer to get some improvement on it…

That aside, everyone know that December is here. December used to means holiday to me every year. December used to tell me that Christmas in here, the reason for celebration and soon New Year will be here!

But December has lost it’s meaning to me. December only means that exam is approaching soon. When did all these started happening? Since I became a Nottingham student. *sigh* It is not that I regret being enrolled in Nottingham. Oh, wait, maybe I do. (getting to know new bunch of friends aside) Business is not even my real choice. I wanted to do something else. Let’s not start this reminiscing about the good ol’ days again.

Anyway, since my enrolment in Nottingham, my December has been pretty bland to be honest. When my exams are in January, there is no room to celebrate the joy on 25th of December or even the 1st of January. Where do you find the time for joy when you do not even have enough time to be fully prepared for your exam!

Students from other institution are all going back home this time of the year and that is when my high school buddies start to bug me to go for a gathering..

*rant* *rant* *rant* Blah.. this is getting pretty pointless..

I’ll just end here.

Happy Birthday, Milton. btw..

o.m.g I have been avoiding my AMC assignment like for a week from the last time I lay my fingers on it. I actually start on it pretty early. I have started to search for articles and borrowed books which are related to the assignment early of the semester. I have read through them and even started an introduction. Went to consult my lecturer too. But then I halted the process then as I need to do my part in the AGS assignment first due to an earlier end submission date. When I resume, I could not continue where I left off. I was left with a writer’s block. I went to consult the lecturer again, spent a weekend thinking about it but to no vail. The more I think about, the more confusing I get. The more I do not know what it is actually about. Kind of know what it should be about but I just can’t write it out. Really frustrating.

Thought of picking it up again yesterday, and then today but here I am, not even viewing the files in the AMC folder. The best I have done till right now is just plucking my pendrive into the USB slot. So disappointing, I know.

I was actually pretty lucky to have my pendrive stuck to my USB right now. I left my pendrive stuck to the USB of the CPU in the library’s computer lab this afternoon. I only went frantic when I was in the class attending tutorial, which means after more than 1 hour in class and after my break. When I rushed to the lab after class, it was no where to be seen. There was nothing slot to the USB of the CPU that I used. I search my pockets and bag for the last time. Nope. Nope. Nope. Not there! I asked the girl who was using that CPU is she saw a green Kingston Pendrive and she shook her head. Shit, ain’t it. Everything AMC was inside. I went to my last resort. The library counter. While on the way down the stairs, I was wondering if I will face the unfriendly CHINESE librarian with specs at the counter. To my relieve, I was attended by a friendly MALAY lady with specs. She would be the one who will get my vote if there is such thing as vote for your friendliest librarian! in my uni. Seriously, she is the only nice librarian I can remember. My favourite too! Anyway, when I asked if there’s anyone who has handed in a pendrive, she quickly ask me if it was a green Kingston pendrive and I said YES! Without further identification, she gave me the pendrive and ask me to jot down my phone number in the lost and found book for the library. Due to her friendly nature, I decided to jot down my name too, just for assurance. So now, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the good Samaritan who returned my pendrive and for the friendly service by the lovely librarian lady ;)

Since there was no class after that, I went home and had lunch. As porridge was never satisfying for a hungry stomach, I poured myself a bowl of mixed Kokocrunch and Honey Stars with milk and went up to my room. To my dismay, I found dead ants on my bowl of cereals. I remove them as there are only about 3. Well, that’s what I thought. W.t.f. There are actually more! I think they probably died in the packet of Kokocrunch because they were not that crispy anymore. I decided to throw it all away. *disappointment*

Next, I try to drag my fingers to work at the AMC assignment but it didn’t work. I end up taking pictures of the prints I received from EOE Online and finish up my review to get my 50 bucks. *woot* Can’t wait. I have also edited a bit of a picture took at The Gardens last weekend during the shopping trip. Not exactly a shopping trip. I was there with my friend to accompany my mom and my aunt while they go shopping. Macam Kuli. Haha.. Fashion kuli. Our presence is to give comments about what they try on, get them the right sizes, and taking their shopping bags for them! *Ops. Drifting away. Let’s move back to the track. Anyway, it is a photo which I have submitted for a photography competition. Shall reveal more about it later and do vote for me, ya! I wanna win! I wanna win! Support me please! Promise you my picture damn got feel. Lol.

All the while when I was in my room, I keep munching on Hershey’s Almond Kisses. *Chom-CHOM-CHOM* Oh, I have also finally organized the packages to be sent over to Bermuda and UK! Will be sending them off tomorrow! Hope they will reach before Christmas! Please please please do! The last time I sent them off, they reach end of January. X.x Damn crap. I know.

Anyway, I’m up here again in my room after dinner and drama-watching session. I should start on my assignment but here I am tapping away on my keyboard and yawning because I just had a phone call with some one and she YAWNED! Yawning is BLOODY contagious, ok! So now that you have read this, NOBODY YAWNS INFRONT OF ME, ON THE PHONE OR EVEN MSN MSGR! Or I swear I’ll kill you! *Grrr*

Shit la.. I’m still yawning. X.X
and I feel hysterical.

My blog gets atleast 50 hits a day from search about the student who passed away after being attacked due to so-said mistaken identity by the police authorities. However, that is not the point. The point is, knowing that there will be a big hoo-ha about the whole incident, a Sri Lanka newspaper wants to generate apiece of profit from this incident as well.

The details in their report was all wrong. Take a look at this:

Lankan student attacked by gangsters in Malaysia dies
Monday, 1 December 2008 - 6:00 AM SL Time

The Sri Lankan student attacked by Malaysian gangsters, died yesterday at the Surdan Hospital in Suban, 40 kilometers from the capital Kuala Lumpur.

Sri Skandarajah, a student of Kingston University, Malaysia was rushed to the Surdan Hospital in a critical condition after being attacked by Malaysian gangsters targeting Indian students three days ago.

According to Foreign Ministry sources, the gangsters had mistaken Skandarajah and other Sri Lankan students to be Indians and assaulted them. Skandarajah`s friend had escaped without injuries.

The Sri Lankan Mission in Kuala Lumpur immediately informed the Malaysian Government to ensure maximum security to the Sri Lankan student community in Malaysia on the instructions of the Foreign Ministry. Mission officials have visited the hospital.

The Daily News yesterday contacted Skandarajah`s parents who broke down in tears and refused to talk about the issue over the phone.

taken from

Surdan Hospital in Suban - which is suppose to be Subang Jaya Medical Centre in Subang

Kingston University which is suppose to be University of Nottingham, Malaysia Campus.

Sri Skandarajah which is suppose to be Sarankan Sriskandarajah.

Instead, head to Daily Mirror for a good write-up about this incident.

Sure, the facts heard rom diffferent sources varies in term of the time the incident happened and the number of attackers involved but this is abit too much, don't you think? To be able to report as a news institute, don't you think they should get all these facts right before publishing it?

He deserves some respect in facts written abt it.

On another note, there has been alot of functions going on to pay/show respect to him in the unversity. Even the Head of Student Service from the UK have flown here to gve support.

Classes were cancelled on this Friday and sport complex was closed for activities happening this week. Other fuctions by club and society were cancelled as well.

The activities held in conjuction to this matter were numerous... but it has been to a point that it seems some students are expressing a little annoyance as they are not sure what all these means anymore. To pay respect to the victim or to make a big thing out of this..

Personally, I have never seen so many activities held to pay respect to a person who passed away in any of the learning institutions that I have been to. Except this. What I have only gone through before is just an essembly held for the announcement of the incident and also a quiet moment where we pray for them. Just that..

However, nothing much can be done as he have gone to be with God. Nothing can heal the emptiness his family felt. All I could do is just hope they would cope well with the situation.

May he rest in peace.

So.. panda anyone?

Sick sick sick of assignment.. Need some air to breath!

Monday, 1 December 2008

On Saturday, I recieved an e-mail from the uni officer stating that 4 of our students have been attacked near the campus. 2 were attacked in a restaurant about 2 minutes drive away from the uni and another two was attacked when their car was rammed and surrounded by 3 other cars. I could not imagine the ugliness of the incident right until i read it from the Star Paper when it was published today. It was said to be an incident of mistaken identity by the authorities.

A Sri Lankan, Sarankan Sriskandarajah who was 1 of the 4 person that was attacked passed away on Sunday morning. Although I do not know him personally, I would like to voice out my condelences to his family. This is the worst nightmare that a family could have when they send their family member to other country to further their education, thinking that this has got to be one of the best things that they have given to him. Having your loved ones away from you and meeting them in this kind of condition when you can finally be with them is a total heart breaker.

Curse the bastards that go around slaining everyone without any thoughts. I hope they suffer a painful death for what they have done towards the innocents.

Here's the news taken from The Star

Sri Lankan dies in attack

A 22-year-old student who was killed by a group of parang-wielding men is believed to be a victim of mistaken identity.

Sarankan Srikandarajah from Sri Lanka was having lunch at 3.45pm on Wednesday in Taman Tasik Semenyih, just a two-minute drive from Nottingham University in Kajang where he studied, when 10 men in three cars pulled up and attacked three students.

A witness said the assailants hacked and slashed the victims.

“It was horrible and everyone was stunned as they attacked my friends for almost two minutes before leaving without saying a word,” the witness, who requested to remain anonymous, said.

Sarankan, a final-year student, suffered multiple slash wounds, losing part of his heels and fingers as he tried to kick away the parang.

He died at the Subang Jaya Medical Centre at 7am yesterday.

A few minutes after the attack on Wednesday, another student of the same university was attacked two kilometres away when the same assailants blocked his car and began slashing him.

“They rammed my car to a stop in the middle of the road. One of them opened my door and began slashing me until one of his gang members said in Tamil: ‘He is not the person’.

“He stopped attacking me and got back in his car and drove off,” the victim, who also requested anonymity, said.

He suffered cuts on his thigh, hand and leg and needed 48 stitches.

It is learnt that many of the students living the area are afraid for their safety following the vicious attack.

Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Sakaruddin Che Mood confirmed the incidents.
