Hurts like freakin shit!! !@#$%^&*()

I'm feelin' sleepy but I have some errands to run later. So I'd blog anyway.

It's been about 2 centuries since I started making friends. As we grow up, not only does our lives get complicated. Everything else does too. Including friendship. I have no idea why but sometimes, I just could not be frank to some of my friends. To me, being friends means being honest and open up to each other. But I find that.. a difficult task sometimes.

There's a friend of mine, whom I can never understand and I really don't quite understand why. Is the problem with me or is it with him? We've been friends for almost 3 years now. Sometimes, he gives me a feeling that we are what I call 'close friends' but sometimes, he gives me the feeling that we are not that close. He just leaves me confused all the time. This is not the first time that it happened to me. There has been a few past occasion when I felt this way. However, things always end up telling me that he is a close friend after all. Still, they repeat everytime like routines..

I don't even know if this is worth thinking or rambling about.
I'd like to say that it is just my own thinking. That I'm being sensitive. But the things he does and the responds I get when trying to talk to him sometimes.. just tells me that it really is happening.
We have some interest and group of friends in common. If there's any activities that interest us both, he'd call me along. That's when I feel that we are close friends. When we are together with a group of friends and I try to talk to him, he ignores me. Sometimes. That when I felt there's something wrong with our friendship. It just goes up and down. *sigh* So, tell me, what is the problem? What is actually going on? Tell me I'm just thinking too much.

Having one of the many happy moments.. Happy - Happy Moments

Saturday, 16 February 2008

It's one day past Valentine's Day! and I have to say that I really had a good time yesterday despite the short duration we spent together.

On Wednesday, the day before Valentine's Day, I was really tired. So I slept early and start workin' on the gift only the next day XD. Hehe. But I already bought the gift the few days before.

Anyway, I dig through my paper box to see if there's anything useful.. Can't really find a thing that I need. Atlast, I used some new A4 papers and a new hard card to make the V'Day card and envelope. With a touch of my amazing art skills and two cans of spray and some cut out paper, it came out amazing~ Hoho.. Lol..Yea.. I'm praising myself. Wtf. I don't know since when I've become so vain and self-praising x.x Must have picked it up form my stupid friends. Lol.

After that, I had to go to the bank to get some cash before collecting a whole stack of photostated textbooks for this semester. Believe it or not, the cost of 23 photostated textbooks cost about 808 bucks x.x Pk.. Then I tried to get the "Bak Kut Teh" packets from the Chinese Medicine Retail Shop but they were out of stock x.x What the heck. Bleh. Then I have to go to the office to check the service charge for the apartment in Anggerik Villa coz there's two units which need to be rented out and finally, one of it is rented out today! *woot* I wasted alot of time in the office coz I did not bring my cellphone with me and I can't find that damn file x.x But thank God, I found it atlast. Rushed to uni and I thought I was late for class but when I walked into the lecture room, the lecturer was no where to be seen (; which means, I'm still considered early. Hehe. We had 1 hr of "interaction session". I left uni after dividing up the books and also spent sometime hanging out at uni with frens. Brought some one to have a look at the apartment and left for home. Was all sweaty and I felt that I just had to bath and freshen up.

That someone came around 4.15 and got the little gift from me.I can't really capture the expression on that someone's face but I hope that someone like it anyhow.(; I'm sure you like it, right? Yes? yes? Yes!

Finally left home about 5 and after all the slight jam, we reach the faraway Pavillion from Kajang 45 minutes later. Yes. It really takes that long for me to travel to Kl. x.x Pretty sick of how long it takes. There's nothing much we can do as I need to get home about 10 because I might need to go back to my hometown to participate in this praying ceremony for Hokkien people. So we decided to have dinner at Dragon-i and catch a movie before heading home. Dragon-i have always been full with people and I thought I'd try it. Well, I thought it should be good, right? With that amount of visitors. However, after having experience dining at Dragon-i. If I were to rate it from a scale of 1 to 10, I'd say 4. Yes. It is that bad to me. The so-called famous dumpling doesn't exactly look presentable to me. It was quite badly made to be honest. Then we have noodles which taste just fine. The pot rice taste weird as in.. weird food that doesn'ttaste nice. WE also ordered appetizer and we found out that it is lack of one ingredient. It does not even look like the one in the menu! Not abit similar! *gosh* We questioned the waiter and he told us that they were out of that ingredient. I was kind of taken aback because this is not suppose to happen in this kind of restaurant. I mean, well, if you do not have that ingredient, you could have come back to the custeomer and tell them about the situation and ask if they still want it! Instead, they just served it to us like normal. This really shucks. So yea, I'm saying that Dragon-i in Pavillion has really given me a bad impression. Never, never, never going to go back there again or any other of they outlet.

After dinner, we met up with some friends for a short while before heading for the cinema for our CJ7. The CJ7 is amazingly cute. Yes, I sed cute. Coz it really looks darn adorable! Gosh! I wanna squeeze one right now! Even when it transformed into a soft today, it still helds the amazing attraction. >.< That was a pretty good movie to me. Overall, I would say it is worth watching (;

After the movie, we met up with our friends again coz we need to send them home. We got into the car and then something happend. That someone went to the back of the car and got out a bouquet of ferrero and a card and handed it to me. I was pretty dumb-founded as I really did not expect it at all. Nothing like this at all but I know I felt really happy that night.

I treasure the moments we have been through, the things that you have done for me, the patience you have towards me and everything else.
Thanks for the amazing night.

I'd like to start off the post with the meaning of 农历新年(Chinese New Year). According to the myths, in ancient China, the Ni¨¢n (年 was a man-eating beast from the mountains (in other versions from under the sea), which came out every 12 months somewhere close to winter to prey on humans. The people later believed that the Nian was sensitive to loud noises and the colour red, so they scared it away with explosions, fireworks and the liberal use of the colour red. These customs led to the first New Year celebrations. Guò nián ( simplified Chinese: 过年; traditional Chinese: 過年 ), which means to celebrate the new year, literally means the passover of the Nian.
Source:Wikipedia

On the first day, the Chinese visits the oldest and most senior members of their extended family, usually their parents, grandparents or great-grandparents. On the second day, the married daughters visit their birth parents. On the third and fourth day, the Chinese visit relatives and friends due to the following schools of thought.

The visiting is suppose to be a respectful and happy moments for all relatives and friends. For some relatives and friends, they only get to meet each other and spend time together to catch up with the stories of their lives, and create a stronger bond during visits. However, it is sad to say that during visits, some people do get into misunderstanding and behave unethically. This does not limits to the range of young people but of all ages.

Recently, on the 1st day of Chinese New Year, the entended family of my grandmother's sister came to visit. There was a huge amount of visitors! There was too many of them till the crowd have to occupy the dining hall as well! It looks like a very happy environment. Kids were running around, eating cookies and jellies and sweets. The teenagers were at the hall, enjoying the movie on T.V., the adults were sitting close together catching up on their lives. F.Y.I. they only visit each other once a year. Anyway, back to the story. Everyone looks so happy together! It is undeniable that they are enjoying themselves.

Never would I thought that most people were putting up a two face mask during that occasion. Sometime after the crowd left, a different story unfolds. My aunts were gathered around the dining table havine some talk. The topic about thier cousins who just visited popped up. The conversations goes something like this :

Aunt: Mei's husband asked what kind of chinese tea was it that we served them and I replied that they're just normal Chinese Tea. I also told them that if they want to drink a higher grade Chinese tea, they could bring it. Her husband quickly answer that they have a case of Chinese tea in the car. So I told him that he should take it out so that we could share and he didn't reply after that.

I find it pretty disturbing that they're being impolite as they're guest in the house. No matter what are served to the guest, they should not be questioning about the quality of the food. They could just leave it if they place no interest in them rather than being rude to the host.

My other aunt also mentioned that Mei was sitting at the lounge with the kids and not bothering to mingle around the adults. As an adult, she should really show some respect to the elders such as my grandmother if not my aunts and uncles. My aunt was also upset that she did not give the red packet to one of my cousin who is currently in Australia. According to my aunts, no matter if the children are here or not, they should give them to the parents. I'm not sure if they really post a serious matter to me but I guess it does affect a person's view towards another person.

Last year, they mentioned that they called up and sounds eager to visit and when they arrived, my aunt found out that Mei's husband got a new Merz and they parked right infront of my grandmother's house. I went totally speechless.

It seems like they are not treating Chinese New Year as an occasion to strenghten their ties and also happy great time together. Instead, they took this opportunity to flash their latest expensive toy or wealthy behaviour pretentiously.

So this is what they do now? Boast about their wealth infront of relatives whom they once play together with and talk bad about each other? Putting up a facade mask? *sigh*

This is what the adult world is all about? This is what you call reality that you have to face when you grow up? I'm really saddened by this. I'm still trying to hold on to the belief that I can still find some one who are true to themselves when I enter the social world.
