Hey there! I will be blogging more about beauty and healthy lifestyle this month before resuming on my travel post! If you miss my beauty posts, this month is going to be a good read for you! Let me start on today's beauty DIY post!

As most of you already know, Sunway Velocity is the new hangout place in Cheras! Just minutes away from the bustling city centre. I'm glad they decided to open up a few more malls to ease the congestion that we always face when we need to get some shopping done.

Anyway, new place means new shops to explore! I found out about The Touch from their facebook and will definitely tell you more about it in the future. Today I'll be focusing on the DIY Coffee Scrub Workshop which was held recently.

We were first introduced to all the beautiful natural ingredients which we will combine to make the Coffee Scrub;
  • Coffee Ground
  • Molasses Sugar / Brown Sugar
  • Himalayan Salt
  • Coconut Oil / Jojoba Oil
  • Orange / Grapefruit Essential Oil
For the first time, it would be safer to follow the basic ingredients as above. Once you are well versed with more natural ingredients, you can always substitute the ingredients according to your preference.

The simple steps to create your own Coffee Scrub;
  1. Start with a mixture of coffee ground, molasses sugar, and Himalayan pink salt then  mix it around with a spoon.
  2. Add in virgin coconut oil and mix till you get the colour and wetness as shown in the picture below.
  3. Add in 1 or 2 types of essential oil for scent and it's benefits. This time around, we added orange essential oil.
  4. Mix everything together and we're all done!

Along with the instructions for our scrub mix, it was also explained to us the benefits and usage of ingredients.

Coffee Grounds. The coffee grounds were sponsored by Seven Cups which is just opposite The Touch. Thanks for the coffee grounds, cup of coffee and slice of cake during the workshop! <3 The caffeine in coffee acts as an antioxidant which can fight free radicals (elements that cause damage to our cells and can cause cancer). Hence assist in promoting healthier skin and stimulate skin renewal.

Molasses Sugar / Brown Sugar. Molasses sugar is the less refined sugar before it is processed deeper to become brown sugar. Molasses sugar available are actually more fine which makes it more suitable as ingredient for face scrub. Brown sugar on the other hand, is coarser hence can be used for body scrub.

Himalayan Pink Salt. Himalayan pink salt is known to provide numerous benefits and one of the benefits as an ingredient of body scrub is that it is excellent at cleansing and detoxifying our skin. It also acts as a deodorant which can get rid of body odor.

Virgin Coconut Oil. Coconut oil works wonders for skin. The fatty acid is good for reducing inflammation and as moisturizer. It also protects the skin from antimicrobial properties and heal open wounds.

Orange Essential Oil. It is extracted from orange peel and as essential oil, the fragrance is so uplifting that it helps reduce depression, while helping you to slowly relax your mind. It also contains antiseptic property which can help to disinfect wounds.

I have yet to try (can't wait to try too) but I love how the aroma of the essential oil empowers the scent of the virgin coconut oil which can make me feel queasy.
