"Gonna rise up, burning black holes in dark memories, gonna rise up, turning mistakes into gold. ~Eddie Vedder~"

First impression from the movie trailer; it is about a women who is having a hard time trying to get over her divorce and decided to go on a thousand miles hike to overcome those lingering thoughts. The movie turn out to be more than that. It wasn't just about her broken marriage or a sudden decision to go for a hike. It was a journey or realization, self discovery and turning back towards the right direction.
It could seems like a long and monotonous journey if you cannot connect to the movie but I would recommend this movie to those who are looking for inspiration and self-reflection in life.
"In Wild, director Jean-Marc Vallee (Dallas Buyers Club), Academy Award
winner Reese Witherspoon (Walk the Line) and Academy Award nominated
screenwriter Nick Hornby (An Education) bring bestselling author Cheryl
Strayed’s extraordinary adventure to the screen. After years of reckless
behavior, a heroin addiction and the destruction of her marriage,
Strayed makes a rash decision. Haunted by memories of her mother Bobbi
(Academy Award nominee Laura Dern) and with absolutely no experience,
she sets out to hike more than a thousand miles on the Pacific Crest
Trail all on her own. WILD powerfully reveals her terrors and pleasures
--as she forges ahead on a journey that maddens, strengthens, and
ultimately heals her."
