Pantene is a brand which has been around for one of the longest time, having 70-years history of developing healthy hair science and it does not come with a surprise that they recently launched the first ever Micellar Technology for Hair Care!

Just like skin care, my most important product in hair care starts with cleaning in the list! For me, without proper cleaning of the hair and scalp, there is not much use to pamper it with all the nourishment because they might not be able to absorb it at all!

Hi guys!

I hope you enjoy my previous post about hair bleaching without damaging your hair (if not, you can read all about it here) and finds it helpful! This time around, I would like to add-on a little and share the process of turning my half black, half bleached hair πŸ˜–πŸ˜ŒπŸ˜† into a dreamy unicorn hair colour! *insert unicorn emoji*

μ•ˆλ…•!
Annyeong!

Today μ–Έλ‹ˆ Unnie πŸ˜† will be sharing about how to have bleached blonde hair without damaging your hair! Having blonde hair can said to be classified as a hardly achievable item in asian's to-do-list. It is because bleaching has always been known to cause damage to our hair, let alone bleaching dark asian hair for a few times to reach platinum blonde.

I have actually made you youtube video for the ease of you lazy bums but here's a post which includes all the information you might want to refer back after watching the video. The video is right at the bottom so if you would like to head right down to the video, just scroll down to the end!

It's the final wrap up month for the year 2017 and most of us are busy finalizing projects, completing all task, shopping for the festive seasons and catching up with friends! So and so that we even neglect on our skin condition.

For me, my skin condition has been under a constant changing condition and what makes it more difficult for me is my skin sensitivity which are prone to breakouts and getting oily. Therefore, I always picky about the skin care products that I use.

I used to have a healthier lifestyle with yoga practice in my schedule twice a week. Well, that was 2 years ago. I have to admit that life without exercise is taking a toll on my body and I am feeling the urge for a change towards a more active lifestyle (but has been procrastinating).

Hi guys! girls! This is going to be the last post before the Chinese New Year! One of the important task in the to-do-list besides getting new clothes before the Chinese New Year would be get a hair cut!

I got to say that Number76 is what comes to mind whenever I am in need of a salon. By the time I look forward to my salon visit, almost all branches has been booked up. I would visit Number76 Bangsar branch but they were fully booked.

So I decided to have a try and made a booking with a senior stylist, Wendy Ng at the Starhill branch. I have not had any session with senior stylist from Number76 (past visits here: Number76 Bangsar with Amy / Number76 Bangsar2 with Yamamoto-san) before but I thought to myself that a simple layering trim can't go wrong with a trained stylist from this salon branch from Japan (assuming it's Japan standard). Initially decided to get a trim just to strike off this  Chinese New Year must-do ritual every year but opted for more mid way through the appointment.

Insta story of my visit.

I don't remember when was the last time I set foot into Starhill. Interior layout has definitely changed but the place remains quietly exclusive, looking like a gallery instead.

Back to my hair story..

So I asked for a layered trim and in the midst of it, I asked if I would add-on a colouring service and she agreed to it. The hair cut was done in a jiffy. Really quick session but from my observation, it wasn't really a layering cut but instead it looks like a horizontal with slight layering instead.

Refer to the picture above to what I meant by horizontal layering. The stylist also asked for the length I wanted for my fringe and we agreed on the chin level but the cut I got was what is shown in the picture above. I have to admit that it was some what unsatisfactory.

There was not much communication initiated by the stylist. All she spoke of was straight forward questions;
  1.  what tea would you like to have? (the tea didn't come by the way. It came after another staff asked me for my choice of tea later on.)
  2. how would you like to have your hair cut?
  3. how long would you like your fringe to be?
  4. what colour would your like? (for hair dye)
  5. would you like your hair to be more curly? (hair curl at the end was done by another staff and it looks like half effort job because I answered that I was going home after.)
That's probably most of what she conversed with me.

This is what my hair looks like without curling them. So unruly. To be honest, got to say I'm a little upset with the result of this appointment because of the haircut outcome and also the attitude of the stylist which doesn't seems to care much. Perhaps I should ask for a straightened finishing touch at the end of haircuts to actually verify if they did a proper job.

When I asked for a blue hair dye, she did not ask for the shade I was looking for. Neither did she show me how the colour was going to turn out. I had to take the initiative to ask her when I saw the prepared dye because I really don't want my hair to turn into some other colour which I'm looking forward to. Especially when it's for the Chinese New Year.

The last I heard from the stylist at the end of the session; if you only wash your hair twice before the Chinese New Year, it will possibly last till the Chinese New Year.

Mind boggling indeed.  :O

I miss layered hair like these.

Gone were the curls when I got home.

It's only blue dye but the mid section looks green, doesn't it? Not that I'm complaining :)

The colour seems to be on little uneven level on both side but not very noticeable so it's all good ^^

I wake up the next morning, looking at my unruly hair. Put in some effort to curl and style it, I'm glad my hair looks fine.. Looks horrible if I straighten my hair though coz of the hair cut.. =/ Seems like I'll probably be looking forward to another hair cut after the Chinese New Year.

I'm not sure if it's the hectic pre Chinese New Year packed schedule or this is the standard of senior stylist of Number76. (my first time booking with a senior stylist) but I makes me think twice for future bookings.

Total damage done: RM372

RM296 for long hair colour. Ah.. it's a compliment for finally labelling my hair as 'long'! No bleaching. Just colouring.
RM76 for senior stylist cut.

In the end, just keep calm and eat soft serve.

Scrolling back to the visit to Groom Artistry end of May this year! A must visit to the Salon after a very long time! The last I visit to the salon before this was before Chinese New Year.

How much my hair has grown, it's time to make them even again but most importantly, give them a new colour! <3

Groom Artistry is situated near KLCC, in The Intermark

Most people might not be familiar with The Intermark but they do have a nice food court at the lower level, together with Village Grocer. Love this place because they have got some really good cheesy mash potato! My favourite craving at the moment! <3

While going for any treatment, you can request these friendly people here to help you get some food or drinks in case you are having some cravings.

If you are driving, best time to visit this place is after working hour on weekdays and on the weekends for a flat rate parking fee.

Their interior is raw and simple. Mostly cement flooring and wall with some wooden elements.

Random picture of my converse sneakers coz they look so good here :D

After hours and hours of bleaching, colouring and waiting, the result is finally out! It's <3

Thanks to Carina (the pretty stylist at the center) for the mix of colours! You can always set an appointment with her because she is really good with colours :)

Top layer is ash brown all over. Bottom was a gradient of Green -> Blue -> Purple. Felt like a unicron colour!

Front and back look. I always love hidden bright colours at the bottom layer shadowed by the top hair layer with less eye-catching colour.

My favourite colours are always the bright colours / ash colour / faded colours. <3

It was a very comfortable visit even though my first there with them; Aishah, Carina, Jerry. Their boss make it a point that they must make every visitor feels at home all the time. Missing from the picture is the young chatty PR girls, Emily.

Below is the colour transition as time pass;

2 days later.

2 weeks after.

6 weeks after.

Visited the salon a second time and got this new ash colour by Jerry. Top layer ash brown + bottom layer ash grey 8-5

1 week after.

5 weeks after.

Which is more of your style? Carina's work or Jerry's work? Well, either one, they are all done at the Groom Artistry! Call them up for an appointment today and let them know Patricia / Tenshi referred you for a special price! *wink

This is definitely a throwback post but one worth reading, I promise.

Sunday, 15 May 2016

Last year around April / May, it was those days when I would pick up freelance jobs to get additional income. Needless to say, I got pretty excited when I stumble across job opportunities with fair pay. It was a day / 2 day hair show model job I found out about through a friend.

To be honest, the haircut does look a little bizarre and hard to blend in with the current normality. That's where the pay comes in I guess. After enquiry at the salon (located at Damansara Perdana), I was shown the hairstyle which I will get, informed about hair dye, requirement to be engaged for 2 days and of course the pay.

I was ready albeit a little reluctant about the change of hairstyle. I persuaded myself that I can always get a change or hairstyle later on if I want to. Proceed with it I did, and this is the outcome. Yes, it's the style of a punk rocker back to your momma's era. Looks fine.. but only on appearance.

It was the most horrific experience I ever had in all my experience of having a hair makeover in a salon. Something I did not expect at all to experience in this salon where they are distributors of big names of hair products.

Firstly, there was no communication between the team. My hair was bleached once, to strip off my current hair colour. The bleaching was a long process and it actually hurts because they applied it up to my roots and scalp. It was then dyed some super saiyan pink. Yes, pink like the cardigan on me in the above picture. Trust me, it definitely looks attention seeking, Nevermind this colour, I'll probably dye it off with a darker colour after the show.

However, to my horror, the hairstylist in charge of the show came over and told the head of the salon that this colour is not the one he wanted and this pink won't do. It was really mind boggling! After a short conversation, they compromise on the decision to give me another bleach tomorrow for a change of colour.

You have no idea how bad it was to have to hear this decision. Bleaching round two. Definitely gonna hurt like hell when the first one already hurts.

My hair is already wet (chinese proverb), the show has to go on. I brave my self towards the next day of bleaching. Horrible enough, again, they painted the bleach on my scalp. It feel exactly like adding salt to the wound, except that this is some freakin' chemical bleach! (sorry about my language but I still feel upset as I am writing this) Even when I told them it is hurting, they choose to tell me; this is not suppose to hurt, perhaps your scalp is sensitive. So it means I have to bear with it?

Deep down, I feel really disappointed, mad and stupid. Yes, stupid that I actually trusted this place to be professional and know what they are doing. If they are really experience and knowledgeable, I really don't know what to comment on their reaction towards me informing them of the burning sensation their bleach is causing me.

Even after the first bleach, I could feel a thick patch of dry skin on my scalp, their bleaching probably scalded my scalp. Which leads to why it was like sitting on a hell's chair during the second day of bleaching.

After the event, my scalp condition deteriorated even more. The condition of scalp on my sideburn keep drying up. Patches of dry scalp would peel off, just to be replaced with another layer of dry scalp. It was not like a wound healing over time. The picture itself also shows that the dye has even got into my flesh. That's how scalded my scalp is.

I contacted the person whom I liaise with and informed her about the condition this job left me with. She asked me to go over so that she could examine the problem and told me to come for treatment every week but I don't think that's feasible, considering that my home is so far away. Imagine going over there everyday takes more than 1 hour drive.. The petrol and time I have to sacrifice, and it all sums up to doing a job which instead of earning, will cause me to fork out money instead.

I went for the hair and scalp treatment which she told me can also be done at home as no machinery were used, instead just application of chemical, leave it for a period of time and wash off. Hair condition might have felt better but there was no improvement on the scalp.

2 months later, condition of scalp is still in the state of fluctuation. It gets a little bit better and then worse off again. Once a while, the condition got so bad that I get acne growing on my scalp as well. Honestly, it feels dreadful everyday.

Since they do not have the utensils to give proper professional treatment for my condition which I would deem serious and worrying, I asked if they do provide compensations so that I can go for proper treatment at a skin clinic. Instead, she told me to drop by for another round of examination and treatment. This time around, I was given a set of products to use at home;

1. La Biosthetique Shampooing Lipokerine - The shampoo does help to improve healing on the wound but it was still drying and hair feels coarse and dry too. I always dreaded when it was time to wash my hair because the experience was stressful. Imagine washing a head of coarse and tangles hair. I was told that no conditioning was needed but it left my hair in a mess.

2. La Biosthetique Lotion Ergines E - This lotion was cooling but once it dries off, the condition comes back exactly the same. It was good for soothing but do not really promote any improvement.

My scalp condition got better but it didn't heal completely. It healed to the stage where scalp on my sideburn was still dry with fine white flakes, and definitely itching all the time. When the itchiness was unbearable, I would lightly rub it with my finger and that will cause the fine dried skins (kinda like powder) to drop off and my scalp would sting again.

I am not gonna lie but since this incident at the salon, my confidence drop drastically and I became very self conscious. I would care about how I look even more and looking at my hair and scalp condition, I do get upset and it affects my mood for the day. It does make me feel stressful.

I would try to smile, style it off but most of the days, but deep down inside, it didn't feel good at all. It was bad hair day most of the time.

I didn't tell anyone about it and would brush it off when some one told me that my hair condition is horrible, just to not worry them and lie to myself that everything is fine, just to feel better.

On December 2015, I paid a visit to A Cut Above for a scalp treatment and the stylist told me that if this still doesn't help, I should definitely pay a visit to the doctor instead. Verdict, I paid a few hundred for the treatment and it didn't help. Stress.

In 2016, I stop using the shampoo they provided and changed to Moist,  Diane . Unknowingly, my condition started to improve. No more dry flakes and dandruff.

Finally, about 1 year later, the wound was pretty much healed. Every salon I went to, they told me my hair and scalp condition is not in a good shape. Only time can heal it overtime.

I have learnt my lesson not to trust even a salon who is a distributor of well-known brand products or a well-known salon. Never going to leave my hair and scalp in their hands anymore until I get a full detail of what they will be doing.

Glad that everything's finally returning to normal except for an inch of damaged hair.

I'm a happy girl now and my confidence is back. (:

Most importantly, learnt my lesson.

I've been at my wits' end! Looking at all the days I should have slot in some entries but couldn't due to my busy and tiring schedule! Trust me, I look terribly zombified without makeup now.

Still, managed to slot in a short visit to IMP Hair Studio to repair my terrible hair condition with Molto Bene's Professional Deep Layer 5 Step Treatment! Yay! *catches a breather*

Got to say this is pretty much a needed session for me! After the awful hair job I took up few months ago, everyone knows my hair and scalp condition went down the drain. To be honest, the pay wasn't worth it considering the pain and damage I have to endure. Definitely my first and my last!

Without further a due, let's start the pampering! This 5 step treatment did not take that long but it was one of the best I have tried! So let's dig deeper into how the Molto Bene's Professional Deep Layer 5 Step Treatment works!

Molto Bene's Professional Deep Layer 5 Step Treatment as the name suggest, consist of 5 crucial steps needed to repair and treat the hair toward a much healthier condition!

Step 1 A high molecule keratin made of Kerataide (from bird's feather which is similar to what forms and strengthen our hair) is applied to hair which then penetrates in through holes in damaged hair, filling up the big gaps which is the reason for brittle and weak hair condition.

Step 2 Hydrolyzed keratin and hair peptide of smaller size is applied and absorbed into hair strands to fill up the small gaps in between the high molecule keratin.

Step 3 The repairing molecules are then settled down with nano-CMC ingredients and Pellicle. Kerataide molecules becomes bigger in size, maximizing in filling up gaps and tighten up, thus strengthening each hair strand

Step 4 The surface is then sealed with a moisturizing Hyaluronic Film preventing repair components to leak out and sealing the moisture to prevent dryness.

Step 5 Last step is to apply an overlay coat Hyaluronic Acid Flourine to keep the hair repair result and moisturize it with ingredients including Olive Oil and Meadow Foam Oil for longer lasting result!

Before

After

Hair definitely looks so much more smoother and light after treatment! Although hair gaps have been filled up with repair molecules, it is amazing how the hair actually feels lighter after treatment! Just like perming and hair colouring, good hair treatment used to take up a long time. Not anymore!

I just need to sit around for about 45 minutes with Molto Bene's Professional Deep Layer 5 Step Treatment and I have great hair after that!

Besides this treatment, IMP Hair Studio also carry other hair care products by Molto Bene such as Moe Moe / Loretta / Loretta Devil  with more natural ingredients and minimal chemicals for the best hair care! Their products are so innovative, even Loretta Devil's casing is reusable once the product is used completely!

Thanks to IMP Hair Studio's friendly team (with Charmaine)  and Molto Bene's amazing products, I left a happy girl! I love my hair condition now!

Great news for those who have read this far!

They are running a Pre-Launcing promo now where you get to enjoy Molto Bene's Professional Deep Layer 5 Step Treatment twice for the price of one! So it's 2 sets of treatment for RM250!

The cherry on the cake happens on 15th August 2015, the official launching day! Enjoy the Official Launching Promo of RM50 only for this amazing treatment!

I have to confess that my hair condition has been so bad before treatment that it has been causing irritating moments and messing up my emotions. Now I could feel the sun rising even on my face! Haha..
