The workshop was officiated by En.Hishamudin Mohamed, Director of Corporate Services, LHDNM and Ms. Foong Yu Wen, Founder and Chief Executive Oficer of SushiVid.

There has always been a grey area in understanding the requirement criteria for influencer contribution to tax. In view of this matter, SushiVid Sdn Bhd, ASEAN's leading Influencer Marketing company  together with Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri Malaysia (LHDNM) has rolled out an educational complimentary workshop to provide insightful tips and guidance to the influencers and bloggers alike to further understand their responsibilities and rights as Malaysian citizens on tax declaration and benefits.

Through the few recent years, influencer marketing has been on the rise and brands has started to allocate a large section of their marketing budget to engage with influencers and bloggers to market their products and create awareness among their peer markets, followers and readers. Following this growing trend, many individual has decided to make blogging and becoming KOL - Key Opinion Leader a full time career but little did many know that if their income passes a certain threshold, they are also subjected to income tax.

According to LHDN,
"an individual earning more than RM34,000 per annum
(roughly RM2,833.33 per month) after EPF deductions
has to register a tax file."

Some full-time bloggers could easily earn more than RM3,000 per month from sponsored contents, paid reviews or any online businesses but may not be aware that they may be subjected to income tax while some might not know how to fill up their income tax form. These are all common problems faced by citizens who are self-employed as they are not exposed to income tax in comparison to those working for other companies where their income tax will automatically be registered by their company accountant when employed.

"An influencer earning more than RM3,000 a month
from sponsored content, paid reviews or
any form of online businesses via social media
may be subjected to income tax"

The workshop was very informational in terms that we were educated on topics such as;
  • benefits of registering a company for our service even though self employed - to enable us to claim our service expenses.
  • taxable income - sponsored products or sponsored trips value need to be declared for taxation and are considered a form of income.
  • mechanism of registering and submitting tax - how to register for an income tax account and how to fill up income tax form correctly
  • tax payment contributes to growth of country - money from tax contributes are utilized to helps to run the country administration, provide infrastructure, healthcare system, etc
  • enjoyable benefits from tax contribution - civilians get to enjoy a safe and peaceful, enjoy infrastructures such as the transportation system, healthcare support, education system, etc.

Many of us may have taken for granted what we are able to enjoy right now as the benefits were already present in our country when we were born. Hence it is common that we might not realise that these benefits came from tax contributions of our fellow countryman which without their contributions, our country might not be as advance and as comfortable as it is now. Most importantly, we as citizens were able to enjoy the more than just the human basic needs such as peacefulness and safety that came from the governance of our country police force, education services provided and run by our education ministry, healthcare services, transport infrastructure all ready for our utilization.

These were available thanks to the tax contributions of our fellow countryman, the invisible heroes who helps to contributes towards our basic necessities and advancement of our country. It is with this, I hope we would all realise the importance and fairness of contributing income tax to our country for those who are subjected to income tax contribution according to the guidelines provided by Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri Malaysia (LHDNM)

Lastly, a step-by-step guidance of tax declaration and filing process was presented by En.Hishamudin Mohamed, Director of Corporate Services, LHDN. Important knowledge covered were; steps to seclare source of income, tips to fill up the Income Tax Return Form (ITRF), the deadlines for form submission (June every year), as well as guidelines to review and calculate monthly tax deductions for each individual. When registered as an enterprise under SSM, influencers and bloggers alike will also be able to enjoy tax relief up to a certain amount based on total income such as mileage claims, equipment claims, travel claims, rental claims for work purpose.

I know this sounds very new to a lot of influencers but tax submission does not sound as complicated as you think. Check out this guide below for a STEP BY STEP E-Filing Submission and if you are still having some issue and need any guidance or clarification, you can always visit LHDN website to know more or call their enquiry line as listed at the end of this post.

Remember that as Malaysians, we need to be responsible and play our role at contributing towards our country in order for our country to keep growing economically and also advance in building up our nation. Take the necessary action now! 😉

Truth to be told, my eating habit or the food that I consume was not of really nutritious since I started working in the cafe. For this, I'm really glad that my mom is here to tirelessly prepare and do all the foodie shopping for me. <3

I wish this was the staircase to heaven. Just kidding.

There's many occasions that I've missed since beginning the journey two years ago. I even missed the celebration of mother's day with mom. Also, now that there's been a more physical distance between us, I think the times when I get to make her happy was so much lesser now. It has been my wish to always see her smile and be happy more everyday like there's no tomorrow. <3

7. November 22, 2017.
My first experience. I'm really glad to have tried these eyelash extensions at Daisuke Salon. Love how it gives me perfect eye shot with those natural mink lashes made to mimic the human eye's lashes.

Trying our and enjoying one of the most raved Pablo Cheese Tart in Malaysia from Japan! The portion for the big tart is crazy huge, I guess my friends would not want to eat anymore oozing Cheese Tart because they would get so sick of it after eating too much. Hahaha.

"Heyy, morning! You look tired!
Have not have your cup of coffee?"

This is the most common verse of greeting you will get if you work in a white collar office. Office work can be very exhausting most of the time. Hence, majority of the office work force count on their daily dosage of caffeine to be their wake up call or to keep them more alert during work.

However, little did everyone know that the packets of instant coffee which they usually count on contains only a minimal amount of coffee extract. Then what exactly is in these packets of 3-in-1 instant coffee which makes such an aromatic cup coffee and gives alertness? Truth to be told, the ingredient which takes up the high percentage is sugar. The sudden sugar rush could be the culprit in making the drinkers think that it is the effect of caffeine but in fact, it could just a placebo effect. And the aromatic coffee? It is probably the flavour enhancer which is widely used in creation of instant beverages.

Hello there, from The Japan Store, Isetan.

By now, many have flocked into the newly revamped and upgraded new Isetan at Lot10 now labelled, The Japan Store. I am sure many has also scrolled through interesting pictures and articles about this new place the city is curious about.

However, there was not many coverage of exposure on the food and beverage stations available. There is a few cafe in The Japan Store but this quaint little store caught my attention.

I came across this {X} Coffee Cafe with a simple and clean look which was very much attractive. A closer look and I found out that they serve specialty coffee with many which are graded Cup of Excellence.

It is a multi roaster stand featuring famous Japanese roasters; Maruyama Coffee / Nozy Coffee / Fuglen Coffee. Coffee served are espresso based and filter coffee.

I have a try on their drip coffee with Indonesia / Wahana Natural beans in Medium Roast with a profile taste of Herb, Kiwi and Raspberry (RM33). Although it seems like the filter hole is huge and water flows freely, the coffee taste was surprisingly strong! The palate does not taste the usual coffee bitterness but the fruitiness and sourness was very much noticeable

They use Cores Coffee Filter recommended by Maruyama coffee and it's in gold!!! Yes, plated with gold! The Cores Pour Over Stand sells at around RM200++ while the Cores Gold Filter sells at around RM400++. Although the cone filter is made in China, I am quite confident with the Japanese quality assurance.

The coffee utensils are displayed just beside the coffee kiosk and they are available for purchase. The arrangement of the display is <3

They also have some french pastries and cake to go with coffee. Some items were on promotion prices when I visited last month. I have not tried any of them but they sure looks good.

There are also a variety of coffee beans available for sale. The coffee beans are from the few famous Japanese roasters mentioned above. Price differs for different beans and roast.

They also sell other interesting products which you usually don't find elsewhere such as Coffee Flower Honey and Coffee Syrup. Coffee Syrup can be used to for Tiramisu recipes, Ice-cream or just with milk! I wonder how honey from coffee flower taste like.

Can you see the glow on my face?! Maybe not so much. Haha..

It was night shift for me and coming back home past midnight, I was just thinking of the bed and nothing else but guess what? I was greeted with this pretty bouquet and birthday cakes! Yes, a combination of cake slices! :D

Couldn't say this enough but I love 'em flowers! I'm a girl who's heart flutters at beautiful flowers. :) Just so you know (or anyone else)... flowers are from Floristika at Bangsar. I would not say flowers are extremely cheap there but prices are reasonable. Wrapping service is available above.

I love this place because flowers here are really fresh.

Throwback new unicorn hair colour from Groom Artistry! All about it here.

Faint colour is love. What's your favourite?

Hightlight stop for the day is Bean Brothers. A place I have been wanting to visit for so long! Finally we made it here! This place is huge, considering that it took up a factory lot!

As if it's not the biggest cafe I've been to, this place consist of 2 floors! The upper floor give you more space for privacy and quietness. Just perfect for work and study.

Right behind me is a wall with a few big frame for each outlet there is in Korea - Incheon, Gangnam, Shindorim, Henan, Google Campus and more! They're not just like any booming cafe but one you should take seriously considering the size of their every outlet, consistency of their perfection of interior, management of every outlet and most importantly, their specialization in coffee.

The circling bar seat on the higher level is good for people watching :D Especially when you have a curious devil in you always wondering how your cup of coffee is made.

I'm very inlove and impressed with the induatrial design with combination of wood work. Though like a run down factory ruin with sights of rust and raw cement openings, everything was almost sparkling clean.

As I was saying about their coffee, we had a try on their fruity flora beans in long black and flat white. Almost never before have I tasted an extraction of fruity or floral coffee in a cup of  flat white before. The fruity and floral taste was vivid. It was stronger in aroma when the coffee enters my mouth. Very much recommended.

#totoronailart

The lower ground is a more casual and public space. Although place has huge, lighting and audio was carefully coordinated.

The kitchen was closed when I visited, open only on very limited times. Not sure about now though. Hopefully the kitchen is open more often now. It would be good to have some food after some work considering the place is pretty far away to get food.

I apologize from the bottom of my heart for the abandonment of my blog. >.< I know. I know, it has been almost a month! All sorts of things happened; broken laptop, personal issues and the preparation of my Japanese inspired soft serve cafe, P.S. Tokyo!

Some of you might have notice postings on my instagram and facebook. Yes, it's probably all related to P.S. Tokyo~ *hard sell face* Haha.. Well, I'm so happy to announce that it's finally open to public! Yay! Please come and support~ *wink wink*

First read about this cafe from a local blog and fell head over heal in love with this place. The nice ambiance and ease of locating prompt me to give it a visit~ Those who is going to Bangkok might want to check this place out too! It is just a few walks away from the station. Probably less than 5 minutes away.

Had a cup of frothy Hot Milk (45baht), a Long Black (75baht)  and a slice of banana truffle cake (110baht). There was nothing fancy about the hot milk, just a comforting cup of froth milk which gives a better texture. The long black was too liquify / diluted and just tiny wee bits of crema can be seen. No aroma too, so not a good cup of coffee. The cake was not bad though ^^ Love the sweet banana which was not soft and a good combination with the chocolate. the scrapes of coconut on top blends quite well too!

I'm thinking this particular cafe is more for the tourist than the local as one of the activity that most visitors would do is to write / draw up their special note and post it around the cafe. My first trip with love and notes left for each other ^^ Wondering if it's still there..

Notes all over the walls left by others. wonder if they do clear up the old notes to make space for the new ones~

Visitors going crazy and even posting on the light cover. Haha..

The cafe counter is small and cozy but they serve a variety of drinks and cakes. Their froth milk is probably one of the cheapest I had!

The back portion of the shop was reserved for lifestyle and homey products. They are all arranged very nicely and gives out a good comfortable vibe to the cafe. Dried flowers and wooden brackets are love!

They sell a wide range or postcards which we can purchase and send it to friends and families back home. I'm one of those who would buy a piece of 2 postcards for collection. Definitely love to send one home to myself too but most of the time, am upset that I don't receive them most of the time. Yes, we do have postal problems here in Malaysia where post officers just dump letters/envelopes/cards somewhere so they don't have to deliver. Just hope it would stop by now.

Very much in love with the bags but the price tags are more to the hefty side. Or else I would probably have gotten one. Wonder when was the last time I had a backpack on during traveling. Miss it much.

The product highlights are most probably the aromatherapy oils, candles, soaps and any other related. I really love their scented products but again, it seems a little pricey to me. Perhaps I will get them one day when money is not much of a constraint for me.. For now, I just prefer to spend on something else :)

I would very much recommend anyone visiting Bangkok to drop by this place if you are looking for a nice quiet place to unwind from your hectic travelling. <3
